Currently on Display - Jennifer A. Uihlein @ The Pizzeria
Jennifer A. Uihlein is an award-winning New York-based photographer, gallery curator, and independent documentary filmmaker with a deep passion for storytelling through visual media. Her multidisciplinary work spans fine art and event photography, photojournalism, and short-form documentaries—each project shaped by her thoughtful and dynamic approach to capturing authentic human experiences. As owner of Girl in a Camera Productions, Uihlein’s no and low-budget documentary films have earned international recognition, screening at film festivals around the world for their emotional depth, cultural relevance, and compelling narratives. Whether behind the lens, curating exhibitions, or developing personal projects, she is dedicated to building inclusive platforms where art serves as a bridge, fostering inter-generational dialogue, personal connection, and meaningful cultural exchange. Her work invites viewers to slow down, observe closely, and connect deeply—with stories, with each other, and with the power of creativity to reflect and transform the world around us.Whether behind the lens, curating exhibitions, or developing personal projects, she is dedicated to building inclusive platforms where art serves as a bridge, fostering inter-generational dialogue, personal connection, and meaningful cultural exchange. Her work invites viewers to slow down, observe closely, and connect deeply—with stories, with each other, and with the power of creativity to reflect and transform the world around us.Uihlein is also the creator of Unscripted: Artists Outside the Frame, a forthcoming vodcast designed to engage, reflect, and serve Long Island’s diverse creative community through inclusive storytelling, street-level accessibility, and broad digital outreach. The vodcast will provide a platform for local artists to share their voices and experiences. The project was developed in direct response to the need for more accessible, authentic, and diverse arts programming—particularly for those historically excluded from traditional gallery or arts spaces. Some of her works are available at the Nassau County Museum of Art Gallery Store and will appear in the 2025 Northport Poetry Path book and Nassau County Poet Laureate Society Review 2025.
